Men at Work reveals blokey client list
A PR agency which believes it is the first to focus just on male consumers has revealed its client list for the first time.
Big male-focused brands Yamaha, Karcher and Kennards Hire have been signed by Men at Work Communications over the last month, adding to its list that also includes Worx and Leatherman.
The agency, established 18 months ago, believes it is one of the first to focus solely on male centered products and services.
Company director Adam Mumford founded the agency with childhood friend Sean McKeon, also a director of the company.
He said: “I could see a hole in the market for PR that was geared towards men. We have been happy playing our cards close to our chest until now.”
The agency based in Sydney’s King Street Wharf now has a team of eight working across the portfolio.
Mumford’s 20 years’ experience in the industry includes working as a copywriter at McGrath estate agents before he founded Use My Mind with offices in Sydney and on the north coast. McKeon worked with Mumford as business development manager at Use my Mind, and both Mumford and McKeon are directors of experiential marketing and publicity company Lefthand Presents in Sydney.
The Men at Work website was developed by digital agency Mentally Friendly.
Good idea. From my experience a lot of PR firms are very female orientated and don’t do a particularly good job with male-orientated products. This is a long-bow too, but I also think unless the business is fashion or fragrance a lot of PRs aren’t particularly interested either…

Great idea. I worked in men’s magazines for a decade and PRs would send you this nice pink press release with balloons and sparkles attached. Which just proved they had absolutely no idea and it was just more garbage for the cleaners at the end of each day.
