Merger enables national bus advertising in Canberra
A merger between transport companies will allows advertisers to run national ads on Canberra buses for the first time.
The acquisition of Deane’s Bus Lines and Transborder Express by ComfortDelGro Cabcharge cemented CDC’s position as the largest private bus operator in Australia, with a fleet of 1,500 buses.
Moove Media is currently in negotiations to sell ad space on the buses.
I think it needs to be pointed out that Deane’s Buslines operated between Queanbeyan and various stops in Canberra. They don’t operate Canberra’s public transport system, which is run by ACTION, and ACT Government agency.

National advertising has been on Canberra’s ACTION Buses in the past – up until a few years ago Buspak and then APN Outdoor held the contract and many national campaigns ran here.
Since Bus Advertising won the contract the majority of buses are ad-less and the few ads that do run are for local campaigns only. A major step back.
