Metro Media Publishing makes Alex Lynch sales director

Alex LynchMetro Media Publishing has appointed Alex Lynch sales director of agency and retail four months after she joined in a consultancy role.

The announcement:

Metro Media Publishing, Melbourne’s largest private multi-media business, has appointed Alex Lynch as Sales Director – Agency and Retail.

Ms Lynch, formerly the Victorian Group Sales Manager, News Community Media, crossed to MMP 4 months ago in a consultancy role and will now oversee all agency, retail and digital revenue across the group as well as the newly formed client integration team.

Her appointment is the latest in a series of high-level appointments to MMP’s sales and marketing team, including:

• Paul Tyrrell, Director Marketing. Paul was formerly National Marketing Director of Sportsbet;
• Jason Frew, Business Development Manager Retail. Jason previously held the same position within News Limited Victoria;
• Shobi Umapalan, Agency Account Manager, was formerly Business Development Manager – Retail, News Community Media, News Limited.

MMP Chief Operating Officer, Trent Casson, said the company had invested significantly in sales and marketing since entering into a joint venture with Fairfax in 2012.

“MMP is committed to partner-led, integrated advertising solutions for its clients,” he said.

“We now have a first-class sales and client integration unit under the leadership of an experienced and energetic executive in Alex Lynch.

“We have driven strong growth in revenue and profitability this financial year, and we are confident of accelerating that growth next year and beyond.”

Ms Lynch said it was an exciting time to be joining MMP.

“MMP has strong brands and deep consumer connections, and is growing quickly,” she said. “I have every confidence this will continue in 2014 and beyond.”

MMP publishes and distributes 15 high quality community magazines and newspapers, including the highly-successful The Weekly Review franchise, to 1 million homes in metropolitan Melbourne. It also owns a suite of digital assets, including the national property portal, reviewproperty.com.au, now a significant player in the Melbourne metropolitan area.
