Michael Cassel Group announces new CFO
The Michael Cassel Group has announced a new chief financial officer for its leadership team.
The Australian live entertainment producer has confirmed Nicole Marcusson for the position – who joins from Endemolshine Australia, the largest independent TV producer in Australia, where she served as head of finance.
In that role, Marcusson oversaw financial control, reporting, strategic analysis, FP&A, commercial, payroll, tax and audit, as well as leading the company’s monthly board reporting and twice-yearly budget, forecasting and business plan process.
Marcusson officially started with the Michael Cassel Group last week.
“Nicole is a deeply respected finance leader with wide-ranging experience in both financial and operational roles,” producer and CEO Michael Cassel said.
“I know that Nicole will be an excellent addition to our leadership team as we continue to expand the scale of our production activity around the world.”
Marcusson said she was excited to be joining the live entertainment “juggernaut”.
“It has experienced such tremendous growth in such a short space of time and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining at such a compelling point in the company’s history,” she said.
“What Michael and his team have achieved so far has been nothing short of extraordinary and I am enormously proud to play a role in continuing that growth into the future. Live entertainment is exciting, it’s vibrant but most importantly it is utterly critical to society and I cannot wait to be part of it.”
The news comes only weeks after Mumbrella exclusively revealed the promotions of Annelies Crowe to deputy head of production, and Anna Fox as creative development director based in London.
The Michael Cassel Group is currently gearing up for the return of Hamilton in Sydney this week, followed by a number of huge productions including Titanique in September and Dear Evan Hansen in October, while Tony Award-winning productions like MJ The Musical and Beetlejuice will hit Australia in 2025.
In May, the company officially brought publicity back in-house.
