Mike Quigley presents at ASTRAs Conference

Co chief executive of the NBN Co, Mike Quigley will give a keynote presentation to the ASTRA Conference on Thursday 22 March.

Quigley will discuss how the NBN will impact the consumer’s appetite for online video content and IPTV, and inversely how that will impact Subscription TV and its 7.3m users.

In the lead up to the presentation, Mr Quigley said: “The NBN will enable innovation and competition by the use of broadband to deliver IPTV, making it possible for service providers to deliver a wide range of content and interactive services through the multicast feature we are currently developing for use on the network.”

Petra Buchanan, CEO of ASTRA said: “Mike Quigley brings a unique perspective to understanding how the NBN will impact future demands for content as driven by an increasing consumer appetite for video rich material and how this will create opportunities for the subscription TV industry. We look forward to welcoming Quigley along with keynote speaker Jeff Shell, President of NBCUniversal International and Richard Freudenstein, FOXTEL CEO who will deliver his debut address at the ASTRA 2012 Conference.”
