Mike Zeederberg quits Profero to start own agency
Profero Sydney boss Mike Zeederberg is quitting the agency and will shortly set up his own operation, Mumbrella can reveal.
Zeederberg declined to discuss his departure in detail but confirmed to Mumbrella that he no longer works at Profero’s Sydney office and will shortly no longer be employed by the agency.
Profero is a global digital creative agency with offices in New York, London, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Milan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo and Singapore. It was founded by Daryl and Wayne Arnold in 1998.
Mumbrella understands that client services director Dave Bentley – who did not return calls – has been promoted to Profero’s Sydney MD.
Zeederberg told Mumbrella: “I’ll be doing something in the same space – digital creative. It will be in Sydney to begin with, with three or four of us initially.” He said staff would all have equity in the new start-up.
Zeederberg previously worked at Dialogue DLKW and was GM of interactive at Euro RSCG.

All over the land people will start being nicer to their clients.
Digital executives will remember birthdays. The value of rosesonly.com will rise. Lunches will grow longer. Chardonnay sales increase.
Children will pick up on the fear “daddy, are you ok?” Parents will give reassuring smiles. But no one will be fooled.
Mike is out there now.
Internationally, Profero executives will be reaching for Kleenex. But the box will already be empty.
The office supplies order will be amended. But new tissues will arrive too late.
Poliform, glass and stainless steel will be caressed by the gentle flow of despairing tears.
“Why?” they will scream into the darkness of the night, into the blackness of their souls “why did he go, why can’t we make him stay”.
On a far mountain top in remote Tibet an ancient Llama will smile. A pebble will be snatched from his hand by a small child. The entrails of a goat will reveal a new destiny.
The wind will carry the message. Mike is free.
Google searchs will increase. Mike is the trending topic. He is already optimised.
“Finally, they will say “someone nice, who really cares, who actually knows what he is doing will be running his own show”, they will feel the heft of the Black berry in their pocket and to Denise in reception they will scream “can you get me Mike’s number”.
