Mitsubishi launches TikTok competition to star in a TV show

Mitsubishi Motors has launched a social competition on TikTok, the winner of which will star in a Foxtel special to promote the new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.

Mitsubishi had also partnered with Australian TikToker Dylan Pawson (@dylanpawson), known for his parkour videos, to launch the competition on the social media platform. Other TikTokers involved include Polly Anna Sk8 and Zara Liang.

At the time of writing, the hashtag on TikTok had 29.5 million views.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia general manager of marketing and product strategy, Oliver Mann, said: “With lockdowns lifting and borders reopening, Australians are eager to explore and reconnect with friends and family. We want to celebrate the nation’s newfound freedom with a one-of-a-kind travel competition that includes the opportunity to star on TV for the lucky winner.”

The program the winner will star in is produced in partnership with Foxtel Media and Dundas Media, with with the family road-trip curated by Jason Dundas.

Foxtel Media head of brand and content partnerships Melbourne Alex Wright added: “This one-off special capitalises on our linear and streaming platforms, creating new ways for Mitsubishi to interact and engage with our audiences. The program will be a one off ‘Live Outlandish’ special airing on Foxtel in early 2022.”

Mitsubishi also conducted a survey that found that 40% of Australians are planning to prioritise travel within their home state in the coming months.

To enter the ‘Live Outlandish’ competition, users need to post a TikTok with the hashtag #LiveOutlandish to show how they “Live Outlandish”, with the winner announced on 16 December.
