Monica Attard the new head of journalism at Macleay College

Former ABC foreign correspondent Monica Attard has been appointed head of journalism at Macleay College.

Monica AttardAttard is a highly experienced journalist who was the ABC’s Russian correspondent during the fall of communism in the ’90s and is also a former host of the Media Watch program. She was also the founding editor of philanthropically funded journalism project The Global Mail. 

In a note to staff, the private college’s Dean Lee Ushakoff said: “We are pleased to announce that Monica Attard has been appointed as the Head of Journalism at Macleay College.

“Monica is the recipient of five Walkley Awards, including the Gold Walkley, as well as being a recipient of the Order of Australia Medal for services to journalism.

The appointment is effective from September.
