The Monkeys’ ‘Celebrate Australia’ wins communication category at multicultural marketing awards

The Monkeys’ Australia Day ‘Celebrate Australia’ campaign for Meat and Livestock Australia has won the 2017 Australia Multicultural Marketing Award for communication after creating a “25% retail uplift for the campaign period”.

Australian Hearing won the people’s choice award for its diversity and inclusion action campaign, ‘You Can Count On Me’  which, according to the judges, “increased their diversity in job applications and increased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment rates.”

Meanwhile, Surf Life Saving Australia and KWP won the AMMA sports award after being granted $1m worth of airtime from SBS’s Diversity Works Challenge earlier in the year.

Both The Monkeys and KWP failed to send a representative to collect their awards.

Now in their 28th year, the AMMAs recognise excellence in multicultural marketing and communication while promoting cultural diversity across Australia’s corporate, community and public sectors.
