The Monkeys, Whybin and UM winners at B&T Awards

In his first public address director of content and commercial David Hovenden admitted it had been a “pretty tough year” for the publication, and signalled a change in strategy for it after the print publication went monthly in September.

He said: “From our point of view it’s been sufficiently tough we have had to re-set what we think B&T will mean in the future. I look forward to sharing those plans with you in the New Year.”

The changes, which market speculation suggests will be a move to publishing every other month –  come just a few months after the magazine moved from fortnightly to monthly frequency.

The Monkeys took the overall Grand Prix, picked by the B&T staff, with the agency named highly commended behind Whybin\TBWA in NSW, with Whybin also picking up the overall creative agency of the year mantle.

However, The Monkeys did win an award for best PR campaign, while UM picked up both media agency and media network of the year.

Other winners included Soap Creative as interactive agency of the year, MCN got media sales team, marketing team of the year was Cadbury, Victorian agency was CHE Proximity and GPY&R Brisbane picked up the Queensland agency gong.
