More older Aussies embracing technology, according to Sensis report
Older generations are becoming more tech-savvy, embracing social media, mobile web and tablet computers, a report from Sensis has found.
The report found that half of Australians are now using a mobile to access the internet, a 10% increase on last year.
This year, the study found that 45% of Australians in their 40s (up from 40% last year) and 32% of those in their 50s (up from 24% last year) are using mobile internet.
For social networking 82% of 30 to 39 year-olds are active users, as are 47% of those in their 40s and 45% of those aged 50 to 64.
Two thirds of Australians are now said to make purchases online with 40% increasing their expenditure over the last 12 months.
The annual Sensis e-Business Report is based on interviews with 1,000 consumers across Australia.
I take offence to being classed as an “older” Aussie! Surely “older” generations are those in their 60s, 70s and 80s, not 30s, 40s and 50s!
