When it comes to Super Bowl successes, there are few surer bets than Budweiser’s puppy ads.

This year’s spot, “Lost Dog,” is likely to make it to the top of USA Today‘s Ad Track rating of the top ads of the game — that is, unless viewers feel that the spot is too emotionally manipulative or PETA discerns some sort of canine-related controversy.

Campaign: Unilever reviews £3bn global media

Unilever, the owner of Dove and Flora, is reviewing its £3 billion global media account.

A spokeswoman for Unilever said: “As has been reported, Unilever is in the process of undertaking a global media review”.

The review is a statutory process Unilever embarks on every three years. The current contract ends at the end of 2015 and a decision is expected before then.

Unilever’s current media partners include Mindshare in parts of Europe, including the UK, North America, and Africa, Interpublic’s Initiative in Latin America, some European countries and Russia, and PHD in Asia and the rest of Europe.

Yes, Jeff Bridges, the Oscar winner and star of cult classic The Big Lebowski, is featured in Squarespace’s 30-second ad, from Wieden + Kennedy in New York. But rather than flash his acting chops, Bridges is making music—specfically, an album of 15 sounds, meditations and stories that will help you fall asleep. The ad, which will air in the first half, also benefits a cause close to Bridges’ heart: childhood hunger.

AdAge: Mercedes Debuts Super Bowl Ad on ‘Ellen’ Show

Mercedes-Benz premiered its Super Bowl ad for theAMG GT sports car — an edgy take on the fabled tortoise vs. hare race — on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Monday.

Mercedes tried to set up the premise and drum up anticipation with several teaser videos, which it posted on YouTube and began airing on TV on Jan. 18, the day of the NFL’s Conference Championship games.
