Elle readers will be able to pre-order copies of the September issue with a cover of their choice between 1 July and 6 July as part of a “print on demand” distribution approach.
The September edition is available in five different cover options to appeal to different audiences. They will feature Kristen Stewart, Zayn Malik, Hari Nef, Amandla Stenberg, and a specially commissioned bespoke art cover.
Poynter: Newsweek lays off a half-dozen in corporate restructuring
About a half-dozen staffers at Newsweek have been laid off in a corporate restructuring, according to an employee at the magazine.

Ad Age: Abercrombie Sues Gap Over Poaching of CMO
Just before the start of back-to-school shopping, there’s a retail battle brewing behind the scenes: Abercrombie & Fitch last week filed litigation against Gap Inc. for the recent hire of Craig Brommers as chief marketing officer of Gap’s namesake brand.
Gap Inc. in January said it had hired Mr. Brommers, who had been senior VP of marketing at Abercrombie for three years. He is scheduled to begin his post at Gap Inc. on July 25, based in the New York office of the San Francisco-based company.

Google has offered pretty generous trials for its Google Play Music / YouTube Red services in the past, including up to 90 days for just $1, but this 4th of July weekend the deal became even sweeter.

58% of 1012 adults polled by Differentology for the IAB UK said that mobile ads were better or more acceptable when they were easy to skip or avoid – followed in a list of other criteria by ads that were unobtrusive (52%) and that didn’t slow the page from loading (52%).
Mumbrella Asia: Malaysia Airlines head of marketing Charles McKee to depart
Charles McKee, the head of marketing of Malaysia Airlines, is leaving after less than a year with the airline, Mumbrella can reveal.
McKee came in to replace previous CMO Dean Dacko in September last year from Canadian hotelier Delta, and is to move on mid-July, according to sources familiar with the matter.
