MTV to film Big Day Out for live music series

MTV Australia has announced that it will film Sydney music festival Big Day Out for an episode of its live show MTV World Stage on January 18.

The show, which airs live gigs and concerts, will shoot the biggest acts appearing at Big Day Out for inclusion in the two-hour special edition.

Rebecca Batties, GM, music and comedy, MTV Australia and New Zealand said: “Big Day Out deserves a global platform and MTV World Stage is going to show music fans everywhere that Australians can do a music festival like no one else. To be supporting the 21st year of Big Day Out in such a historic way makes this really exciting for us and also for music lovers all over the world.”

Ken West, director, Big Day Out added: “We are all totally pumped that MTV and World Stage are on board with us this year. To be able to show what the Big Day Out experience is really about to music fans all over the world is a dream come true. Great audiences, great music, Australian Summer; what’s not to like! BDO and MTV – two icons working together, this will go off. Can’t wait.”
