Is there anybody else working in media apart from Mark Coad?

I don’t think so. Not needed.

Why don’t you provide your email Mark – is it because your’e not really Mark?

Talking of tees, who provides Mumbo’s tee shirts? There’s not a wardrobe credit in the credits… Some funky fashion label wanting to flog tees to adfolk is missing a trick. I, for one, like Tim’s tees. And where does Huntsman sell his tees? Would any suit me?
Cheers,
Ronnie Mac.

Hi Ronald,
Mainly I’m an internet shopper, thanks very much for asking. Threadless is a favourite.
Adam’s can be found at Goatboy.com.au.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
There is a point to creating effective and clever public relations or propaganda as it used to be called. It can change peoples opinions, overthrow governments and win wars. But to just do some silly stunt to get a bit of cheap free media is tasteless and Adam Hunt should know this.

@ brave anonymous – “taste” is a funny thing. You obviously find all of my work tasteless, yet the work I did on the Gruen Transfer genuinely changed people’s opinions about shape discrimination, including the host Wil Anderson. Wil stated that as a result of my idea he felt uncomfortable at the thought of telling fat chick jokes. A gay fat Jewish woman thought my work was fantastic. Todd Sampson thought it was incredibly tasteless, but when it comes to understanding discrimination, I’ll rate the opinion of a gay fat Jewish woman over a skinny straight white guy any day.
Call it a silly stunt if you wish but it got a lot of people talking about the issue of shape discrimination.
I played a very small role in the Kevin 07 campaign – which overthrew a government, so I think I get what effective & clever public relations & propaganda is.
I’ll readily admit that my Goatboy work is silly & tasteless, but it was for a silly & tasteless range of T-shirts, which are selling nicely thanks.
You tell me that there are things that I “should know.”
I’ll tell you one thing I know for sure – anonymous criticisms come from the faint of heart & the soft of spine.

With respect (or without?), the ad campaign did not “overthrow a government”… not by a long shot. Overthrow!! Ha! It was an election not a revolution. The incumbent was tired and internally disfunctional. The public (we have compulsory attendance here so it was hardly about convincing an idle majority to overcome their lethargy) peacefully exercised their right to vote them out. Would “Kevin 07” have worked if the Kevin was Latham not Rudd? (and not overestimating Rudd’s dubious appeal here). Not a hope. I am sure you do good work, credible, effective work, but to show such hubris is not reflective of it. It is worth remembering sometimes that the product does its work in the selling process too. And in a compulsory attendance democracy it is that elections are more often lost than won.

Duck, well said, I was tempted to respond in similar fashion but frankly couldn’t be arsed as the man’s vanity and self importance are beyond belief.

Is Adam’s shirt a little on the tight side?
Do they shrink in the wash or am I a fat bastard grown used to a looser fit?

Don’t be a silly boy Adam. The Kevin 07 campaign was a well constructed and managed campaign, but it played virtually no role in the election of the Rudd Labor Government. As The Duck said, the Howard Government was so tired and dysfunctional all Rudd had to do was reach the finish line and he was guaranteed his victory.

Kevin 07 might get the plaudits but it didn’t win the election. As any Labor -insider will tell you that honour belongs to the ACTU’s Rights at Work campaign directed by George Wright. The election was over before it even began. Kevin07 was a smart catch-cry but nothing more than that. Neil Lawrence and Adam Hunt did their job well but it was like coming on in time-on when you’re 40 points up in the NRL final, you get to hold the cup aloft, but the game was already over.
