Mumbrellacast: DAN CEO Henry Tajer and all things Seven – Upfronts, Pac Mags and Prime

Australia and New Zealand CEO of the Denstu Aegis Network, Henry Tajer, joined the Mumbrellacast team this week to talk through the week in Seven, the MFA EX conference and whether or not he has an ‘impossible job’ in rebuilding the holding company.

Seven’s Upfronts took place this week, announcing an unexpected highlight in Mega Mini Golf and giving attendees the first look at ‘sleeper hit’ Pooch Perfect. The team debates whether the market wants the throwback hits of Farmer Wants A Wife and Big Brother, and Tajer also gives his take on which of the commercial networks put on the best Upfronts presentation.

Seven also announced its plans to merge with Prime Media, and sell Pacific Magazines to Bauer for $40m. During the team’s discussion about the business moves from Seven, Tajer expresses the opportunity they provide for the magazine industry and for giving the regional ad market a boost.

Finally, the team gets Tajer’s take on the media pitching process, an event he finds valuable to bring businesses together and get the best out of their team. He also voices his opinion on the controversial Kellogg’s pitch, which he found “open and very constructive”.
