‘My aim is to add transparency to the entire creative eco-system’: Creative launches new directory
Visie – a directory designed to help users locate and work with content creation, video production, and photographic production creatives – has launched this week.
The online platform has been launched by Justin Woo – a creative director with more than 14 years of experience running his own agency, Studio Woo, and whose client roster contained several well-known brands such as Sportscraft, Nikon, Sheridan, Just Jeans, and more.
With Visie, Woo has rolled out “a curated space” that combines the business-networking focus of LinkedIn with the visuality of Instagram, allowing brands and marketers to connect with “creative decision makers… working in the commercial creative industries,” including freelance artists and agency representatives.
It also offers a catalogue of medium and small businesses that help uphold the production industry.
“For some time now, I’ve recognised that there isn’t a single platform where you can search vetted portfolios by specialism or location and the more I explore the space, the more opportunity I see to develop a creative community,” Woo said.
“It is early days for Visie however my aim is to add transparency to the entire creative eco-system as I believe gatekeeping information is the way of the past.
“We have some exciting features in the pipeline to help artists gain more work and to help clients find the right artist for their brief.”
As of the writing of this article, Visie’s content creators can be sourced from Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. Moving forward, the free platform aims to bring Bali and Auckland into its web, with the main goal of generating a global community tapped into local production.
