Natalie Jenkins named as CEO of Perth agency Block, as Tanya Sim steps back as MD

Perth-based branding agency, Block, has named Natalie Jenkins as its first CEO.

Block co-founder and creative director, Mark Braddock, said that Jenkins would be able to supply the strategic leadership the agency needed for its next stage of growth.

“We have big plans for Block in the year ahead, and Natalie is the perfect person to provide strategic leadership as we begin to implement these changes. With an experienced senior team in place, we’ve given Natalie the challenge of bringing everyone together to focus on our growth strategy moving forward,” Braddock said.

Jenkins has joined from the Black Swan State Theatre Company where she was executive director and co-chief executive officer for five years. She was simultaneously working as a principal consultant for strategic advisory NJ Management and a board member at Future Now.

Jenkins is also a lecturer and member of the WAAPA Industry Advisory Panel for Arts Management at Edith Cowan University.

Jenkins said: “I am very excited to be joining the talented Block family next year and am looking forward to working with such a terrific team. This is a wonderful opportunity to build on the success that Tanya (Sim) and Mark have created and work with them in taking the company into its next period of growth. 2020 is going to be a great year all around.”

Block has also announced that its co-founder Tanya Sim, is stepping down as managing director, but will stay on as a board member.

Sim stated that it was time to take a more strategic focus for the agency.

“With an incredible team in place and Natalie at the helm, I feel ready to step away from the day- to-day running of our studio to take on a more strategic focus. We look forward to welcoming Natalie to Block [this] year.”
