NBCUniversal unveils new SYFY brand identity

NBCUniversal International Networks has revealed a new brand identity for science fiction channel SYFY.

The new identity, which launches locally on Foxtel on September 17, aims to celebrate SYFY’s ‘renewed commitment’ to the genre and fandom.

SYFY’s brand refresh includes a new logo, as well as new designs and a new typeface across broadcast, digital and social.

The primary typeface is ‘Syfy Hero’.

The refreshed channel will include the premiere of The Shannara Chronicles: Season Two, Z Nation: Season Four, and Channel Zero: No End House.

Lee Raftery, chief marketing and content officer and managing director, UK & Emerging Markets, NBCU International, said the science fiction brand is hoping to create a “universe” for sci-fi fans to call home.

“SYFY puts fans at the centre of everything we do,” Raftery said.

“The new brand identity celebrates our commitment to the sci-fi genre and fandom at large – both on-air and across digital.”
