NBN uses cartoons to talk to businesses

The National Broadband Company has launched a new video to explain the benefits of the internet service for businesses.

The B2B video uses the same cartoon aesthetic as its consumer communications.

The campaign is intended to promote the new services available to businesses.

The NBN will give businesses the ability to run up to 50 voice services over the fibre network, assuming they have the correct equipment to enable the service, and offers extended levels of support for internet service providers.

Andrew Sholl, general manager of media relations at NBN Co told Mumbrella: “NBN has only 41 direct customers, all of whom are ISPs. The core message is for us to explain to the 2 million small businesses in Australia the advantages the NBN will offer and get them thinking about what they need to do in time for the roll out.”

The work was created in-house and animated by Sydney company Sixty40.

Peter Strong, executive director, Council of Small Business of Australia, said in a press release “There’s a real chance for small businesses to find new ways to increase productivity, reduce costs and expand markets through new ways of working, as well as gain more free time and cut down on stress.”

Recent consumer-facing communications from NBN narrowly escaped a Press Council ruling after a complaint was made about a supplement in the Sydney Morning Herald.
