NDM’s Danny Bass named as Group M’s new chief digital officer
Group M – the umbrella grouping of WPP’s media agencies – has appointed News Digital Media’s national sales director Danny Bass into the new role of Chief Digital Officer.
Group M chairman John Steedman said: “Digital leadership is vital to the future of our company and this is an important new role for Group M. Our media agencies now all have strong digital leadership however with Danny’s appointment we are confident of taking the collective group’s digital offering to another level.”
Bass said: “I am very excited to be joining GroupM in this newly created role. The opportunity to work with a team of very talented executives and digital specialists, along with GroupM’s commitment and investment into its digital offering, present me with a fantastic opportunity. At a time when the pace of change in technology, consumer behaviour and campaign accountability are rapidly transforming the media landscape, promoting digital thinking will be a key priority, whatever the platform may be. I am looking forward to leveraging my digital and publisher experience to lead the digital strategy across the group.”
As well as the Group M media agencies of Mediacom, Mindshare, Maxus and Mediaedge CIA, Bass will also work with WPP’s search agency Outrider.
He starts in the role late next month.
