Needle gets Mexican theatrical release across 50 screens
Australian horror film Needle will receive a Mexican theatrical release, scheduled for February.
The film will be released across 50 screens in Mexico after a successful run in Turkey across 62 screens, grossing US$260,000.
Deidre Kitcher producer of Needle said “Needle has been sold in over 74 countries worldwide but has been particularly successful in Turkey, where it was seen by over 55,000 people on 62 screens grossing some $260,000 USD. This has lead to the Mexican distributor confirming the theatrical release plans for early 2012, which is quite exciting.”
It comes just days after the film was released across North America on DVD an VOD through Lionsgate.
Congrats to the team!
I watched the film on Blu-Ray last night, really enjoyed it.
Good news – well done. Confirms yet again “content” is still King – www has an insatiable appetite for former – well made stories travel – AUS teams can be & are competitive – writers must think & read “very carefully” before signing any “legal documents” concerning “future copywrite”.
