Nestlé confirms shortlist for media pitch
Nestlé has confirmed that it has invited GroupM agencies Mediacom and MEC along with incumbent Zenith Optimedia (ZO) to pitch for the $60m Australian media account of the multinational food and beverage company.
In a statement Nestlé said it has invited three agencies, which are all on its global partners roster, to be part of the review which will include the media strategy, planning and buying for all its brands including Kit Kat, Nescafé, Milo and Maggi.
Nestlé’s head of media and digital, Antonia Farquhar, will lead the process and a decision on the selected agency will be made in October in preparation for the company’s 2015 communication plans.
The lucrative media pitch will be closely watched given the size of Nestle’s media billings. The account is one of the largest new business opportunities at the moment outside of the current Woolworths media pitch and the Lion media pitch which concluded a few weeks ago.
The pitch is the first full scale review in ten years with ZO holding it for the entirety of that period.
