Nestlé names Australia’s first Milkybar ‘kid-ult’ ambassador

Nestlé has appointed Australia’s first Milkybar ‘Kid-ult’, in a campaign orchestrated by Red Havas.

New South Wales tradesman Nicholas Shields won the competition, which requires him to promote the launch of the Milkybar Whirl – a new Milkybar that has a swirl of milk chocolate. When promoting Milkybar’s products, Shields must also wear an adult-sized version of the Milkybar kid’s costume.

Shields said the role was perfect for him.

“I was bombarded with calls from my friends, family and colleagues, because they had seen this newly created role at Milkybar and thought it suited me perfectly – and they were clearly onto something,” he said

“Whether I’m at work, with friends or just chilling at home, I’m always the one wanting to have some fun. On top of that, I’ve got a reputation for bringing the best snacks to any get together, and Milkybar is always on the table, so this job had my name all over it.”

Nestlé head of marketing confectionery, Joyce Tan, said the initiative received over 300 responses.

“The competition was tough with a lot of high-quality candidates, but Shields’ undeniable passion for Milkybar and playful personality stood out to us, so we’re looking forward to having him on board,” she said.

“We would like to thank all the Milkybar fans from across the globe who applied, and we hope Milkybar Whirl will continue to give fans an opportunity to relive their childhood.”
