Kermit provides the soundtrack for Nissan’s underdog tale
Kermit the Frog provides the soundtrack for a new ad for Nissan’s seven seat family car the Pathfinder.
The campaign, created by Whybin/TBWA Group features Kermit’s ode to the underdog, It’s Not Easy Being Green, and tells the story from the perspective of a boy who loses out on family life by being the smallest.
The slogan of the campaign is ‘Built for the whole family, including the underdog.’

Really, really nice.
I hope it doesn’t get ruined by a 30sec cut-down.

Brilliant.

I thought it was going to be about an environmentally friendly hybrid car. Wonder if anybody else got that impression.

Part of me thinks that this ad is going to say if you ride in this car you should be the one who is bullied.
It also shows a kid who is clearly upset from bullying, and a family who don’t particularly seem to notice. Will buying a car really cheer the kid up, or work on fixing their problems? No.

Really nice ad

I think this ad is awful. Childhood bullying or being bullied is not something that should be used to sell a product.
That poor boy is miserable they way he is treated is shocking.
Very tasteless advert. Sorry I don’t approve at all

I saw this ad for the first time tonight and my initial reaction was that he was being outcast because of his red hair – mainly because of the “it’s not easy being green” song. Quite agree with Danielle and Lisa – awful advertisement. Does this ad say anything about the car?
