New look Bachelor draws in lowest ever launch ratings, but tops 16-39s demo

Ten’s The Bachelor hit screens last night with a new format, The Bachelors, but the tenth season of the show saw its lowest metro ratings of any premiere episode to date, with an average of 309,000 metro viewers.

The premiere did, however, top advertising demo, 16-39s, and according to the network, across on-demand and live stream, 44,000 viewers watched The Bachelors on 10 Play.

Last season’s launch in 2021, which featured pilot Jimmy Nicholson, pulled in 482,000 metro viewers, while the 2020 launch brought in 681,000 metro viewers, and in 2019 the premiere aired to 828,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, the #1 entertainment program on Monday was an episode of Seven’s Home and Away, which brought in an average metro audience of 519,000 viewers.

Next in entertainment was Harry: The Interview on Seven which drew in a metro audience of 487,000.

Seven’s The Chase Australia was next with a 455,000 metro audience, followed by ABC’s Back Roads with 363,000 viewers.

Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program for Monday night, bringing in 899,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News with 892,000 metro viewers. Nine News had 705,000 metro viewers, with Nine News at 6:30 on 698,000 metro viewers. Nine’s A Current Affair had 514,000 and ABC News had 553,000 metro viewers.

Seven News at 6:30 also topped key advertising demos, 18-49s, and 25-54s.

Meanwhile, Seven won the night, finishing with a share of 33.1%, while Nine had a share of 26.4%. Ten had a share of 17.5% and the ABC had a share of 14.9%

Seven also won the primary channel share with 22.1%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 7mate with a share of 5.7%.
