New PR and comms agency We Scout launches, wins Nature’s Care account

Lori Susko, formerly managing partner of PR and social at 303 Mullen Lowe, and Annabelle Jones have launched We Scout, a new public relations and social agency that says it will assemble a team of specialists but avoid the “big agency overheads”.

A decade ago, the pair spent a number of years working together at Map and Page, where Susko was general manager of the Sydney office and Jones was an account director.

Susko and Jones previously worked together at Map and Page

“We scout was born from a love of meaningful, data-driven brand storytelling that helps build commercially sustainable businesses. We build a senior team of experts, pulling together experienced teams based on the brief,” Susko said of the new business.

“Our partners include purpose-led, digital disruptors who are pioneers in their respective fields, with many leaning into issues that put women and gender equality at the forefront of what they do. This is something that, as an agency, we are really passionate about.”

Susko spent a year in the 303 Mullen Lowe managing partner role, and previously worked as Klick Communications’ head of communications and general manager and director of integration at Kite Communications. Jones, meanwhile, had a three month stint consulting after spending four years at Hausmann Communications. She was also general manager of AMPR Sydney.

Jones added that a shared work ethic, and “a common love of doing work that has impact and purpose”, brought her and Susko back together.

“This is certainly an incredible time for the industry, and the world as we know it,” Jones said.

“Lori and I have worked together before, so we have been able to really hit the ground running and have already achieved some high quality work, even in our infancy.

“As a team, we are committed to continuing to evolve, adapt and learn, and we couldn’t be prouder of the momentum we already have gained.”

The agency recently won work from natural health brand Nature’s Care, and will now take charge of the Healthy Care range’s PR and communications account. It is also working with a social networking platform, online health and wellbeing programs, and sporting codes.

“We were impressed with the way we scout understood our business and our customer instantly – they felt like an extension of our team right away,” Nature’s Care’s marketing manager, Alle Grace, said.

“They are strategic thinkers with creative ideas however also show a clear understanding of what we want from an agency partner. They have a fierce work ethic and we believe this will be a rewarding partnership.”
