New York Times hires former Fairfax exec Julia Whiting to lead APAC ad sales
The New York Times has appointed Julia Whiting from Australian publishing company Fairfax to lead its sales operations across Asia Pacific.
She takes on full responsibility for the region, which was formerly divided between two sales directors, one based in Singapore the other in Hong Kong.
The appointment comes at a time when the NYT announcing will close its sales function in Singapore for now, opting for Hong Kong as the preferred location for regional and global ad sales.
Whiting moves from Melbourne, where she was agency account manager for Fairfax. In her career, she has also worked at Penguin Books Australia and Alicat Publishing.
