Newest GoDaddy campaign features Olympian Melissa Wu
GoDaddy has launched an Olympics campaign featuring Olympic diver Melissa Wu via Bashful, “Dream It. Build It.”.
GoDaddy, the official website builder partner for the Australian Olympic Team, announced it had partnered with Wu last month.
The 30 second spot sees Wu using GoDaddy to set up her online business, while also featuring Wu diving off a platform.
This is the first campaign that Bashful has worked on with GoDaddy.
Tamara Oppen, managing director of GoDaddy Australia, said: “GoDaddy has been proudly empowering Australian entrepreneurs for six years. Our research revealed that a quarter of Aussies have dreamt of starting their own business, but haven’t yet taken that first step. We want business ownership to feel achievable to anyone with an idea or an entrepreneurial spark. Through our partnership with the Australian Olympic Team, Melissa Wu as our inspiring ambassador and this exciting TVC and campaign, we want to demonstrate to Aussies that if they can dream it, they can build it with GoDaddy.”
According to research by GoDaddy, a quarter (24%) of Australians have a dream to start their own business but haven’t done so yet. Of those, over half (53%) reported actively thinking about it at least once a week, but a lack of money (52%), confidence (41%), or expertise (37%) are the three most common barriers.
Emil Vrisakis, creative director and founder of Bashful, added: “We are very excited to be working with GoDaddy on their ongoing creative campaigns. GoDaddy is the world’s largest domain registrar and empowers people to create ideas and succeed online. Our first engagement stars Australian Olympian Melissa Wu who is the perfect ambassador to bring this idea to life; not only is she an Australian Olympian, she authentically works with GoDaddy on her own small businesses, enabling her to chase further Olympic glory.”
