News and current affairs leads Thursday ratings
Nine and Seven’s news and current affairs shows led the Thursday ratings night, while programs broadcast from 7:30pm all failed to reach the one million viewer mark respectively.
In the 7:30pm slot, Nine’s travel show Getaway was the leader with 943,000, followed by Ten’s The Biggest Loser with 908,000, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data in the main metro markets.
Seven’s Ghost Whisperer, which was recently brought into the schedule to replace the axed game show The White Room, trailed third with 802,000 viewers.
In the 8:30pm time slot, Nine’s The Mentalist led with 949,000, which was down slightly on the 1.022m it attracted last week. Meanwhile Seven’s Cougar Town attracted 876,000, which as slightly up on the 857,000 it managed last week.
Overall free-to-air viewing among the main channels saw Nine take the lead with a 26.6 per cent share, followed by Seven with 24 per cent and Ten with 20.2 per cent.
