News continues to dominate ratings as MAFS remains #1 in entertainment

The nation’s appetite for news content saw flagship news programs continue to dominate the overnight television ratings, with the category making up seven of the top ten offerings on Tuesday.

Nine News (1.046 million), Nine News 6.30 (1.006 million) and Seven News (1.004 million) all aired to over a million metro viewers, as Nine won the night with a 32.3% network share ahead of Seven with 23.8%.

The ABC (18.3%) continued to perform ahead of Ten (17.7%), with ABC News taking 700,000 metro viewers. 7.30, which included Laura Tingle’s report on Scott Morrison’s apology for the cultural attitudes towards women in Parliament House that have developed under his watch, brought in another 610,000 metro viewers.
