News Ltd promotes Hannah to group GM role

Northern Territory News general manager Evan Hannah has been promoted to the role of News Limited group editorial general manager.

Effective immediately, he will report to Campbell Reid, News Ltd group editorial director and replaces Michael Wilkins who moved to the role of GM of North Queensland Newspapers based in Townsville in January.

Hannah’s vacated post has been filled by Grant Galvin, currently operations director of Queensland Newspapers.

Hannah became head of the NT News two years ago. Prior to that, he was managing director of the Fiji Times, also owned by News Ltd until he was deported by Fiji’s interim government in May 2008.

Meanwhile, Galvin’s appointment comes after six years with Queensland Newspapers. He joined the company in 2004 as human resources manager and two years later was promoted to operations director, responsible for manufacturing and distribution at the Murarrie printing plant.
