Niche Radio Network to launch with 55 new stations
A new radio national radio network is set to launch early next year with a focus on branded content, special interest groups, sport, religion, and foreign languages.
Niche Radio Network has ambitions to be the largest independent multi-programmed radio network in Australia with more than 35 stations on air with an additional 20 stations expected to be added later.
The network is open to branded content proposals, and is offering a mentoring service for clients new to the discipline.
Niche Radio is also looking to provide a range of topical and special interest shows such as cooking or DIY programs.
Live sporting events will also be covered as well as wrap-up shows, review sand previews. The network is also seeking the contribution of multi-cultural and non-english speakers to present shows.
Niche Radio needs to pay attention to the CRA, just remeber what they did to Radio 2 a few years back when they dared to challenge the status quo and launched a national commercial radio network out of Sydney

Ok but who’s behind this? Where are they broadcasting? Where will their studios be? Do they have any studios? Is this another online network? I’m assuming it’s Digital but the story tells us nothing.

via website: “Once you are successful in obtaining a segment, you will need to organise the editorial content and sell advertising to cover your staffing and leasing costs.”
Basically a glorified community radio network?
