Nick Xenophon releases all-singing, all-dancing musical campaign for SA election
Former Senator come state political hopeful Nick Xenophon has released a music video to promote his new party SA Best.
Created by The Hive Creative Colony and its production team John Francis Productions, Trace Elements Media and QTheMusic, Xenophon sings and dances for the duration of the two-minute commercial, kicking off with: “The state is going backwards, let’s stop that in its tracks. A true blue, caring party, that’s what SA lacks”.
The ad, which includes a choir of candidates and dancing routines, targets soaring power prices, kids moving interstate, jobs disappearing, government overspending and what Xenophon deems a public health crisis.
The musical number delivers the promise SA best will “Get on top of problems – pokies, drugs and crime”.
Xenophon sings his call to action: “We’re the best, we’re SA-best, come on and put us to the test, make a change in the nick of time, forget the rest, vote SA-best.”
Since launching the ad yesterday, Twitter users have already taken to the social media platform to share their opinions.
That ad for #SABest has got to lose them some votes! Ugh,

I’m a sucker for low-budget political ads so can’t not like this. pic.twitter.com/FLqOCpvoSD

Cheesy and a shocker. Had my entire office entranced. It’ll work for them.

Surely this is the death knell for the ‘creative’ black t-shirt

Is public money funding this?

Am I alone in thinking it’s a genius move? Considering how much earned media they’ve gotten from the social sharing of this cheesy video it’s pretty bloody effective.

OK, so it’s cheesy, but it embodies optimism. Brilliant.

At last some pollies having fun and laughing at themselves, hamming it up and getting out a message. Yes it’s a shocker but I think that’s what was intended. Made me smile and I’d vote for them…for sure!

Just like “Guns, Jesus, and Liberty” don’t work for mainstream Australia and only make Christensen’s Mackay look like the hick backwater it is, this is surely going to reflect extremely badly on SA if this guy gets any votes after this.
