Nine leads the ratings year with just one week to go
With just one more week to go in the official TV ratings year, the Nine Network remains narrowly ahead of its closest rival Seven.
The Nine Network won the most recent ratings week with a 28.8% share, compared to Seven Network’s 28.6%. Nine’s primary channel also led the charge on 19.3%, compared to Seven’s 18.0%.
In the survey year-to-date ratings, Nine Network is leading 29.5% to Seven’s 29.1%. Network Ten’s year-to-date share is 17.2%.
There is just one more week in the official OzTAM ratings calendar, which kicks off today.
The Seven Network has won the total people battle for the past 12 years. At Seven’s Upfronts event in 2018, Seven predicted it would continue its winning streak throughout 2019 and 2020.
Ten’s share was below its year-to-date average this week, slipping behind the ABC with 10.5% to ABC’s 12.8%. With the addition of multi-channels, the ABC Network had 17.8% to Network Ten’s 16.8%.
Ten’s weekly performance was hampered by Saturday night, which saw its primary channel garner just a 7.1% share.
Throughout the week, Hamish and Andy’s Perfect Holiday on Nine topped the charts for entertainment, taking the most viewers across total people, as well as the key advertising demographics of those aged 16 to 39, 18 to 49 and 25 to 54. It premiered to an overnight metro audience of 881,000 last Sunday night.
Ten’s Monday night Have You Been Paying Attention? was the second most popular entertainment program throughout the week across the demographics and total people.
The following graphic was compiled by Nine, based on OzTAM data. It excludes ABC and SBS viewing, meaning percentage numbers will not match the numbers referred to above.
Seven’s brash statements about their audience performance is an unapologetic money grab and is damaging to their advertising partners businesses. It needs to be stamped out

Mathematically not possible for 7 to make up that % in 1 week so unless there is a miracle 9 should win and good luck to them.
Warburton told the world 7 where tired and predictable guess viewers agree and voted thru the people meters.

Just remember… this entire report for TV ratings is based off a sample size somehow representative of the entire population, then total numbers are extrapolated with the assumption the rest of the country is a model of the tiny ass sample size. What a crazy, crazy world we live in.
