Nine skips The Voice but Big Bang still wins

Nine won Wednesday night despite last minute schedule shenanigans which saw it replace The Voice with a triple bill of Big Bang Theory.

Nine also premiered superhero TV series Arrow – opting for 8.30, the third timeslot it had been announced in. The Arrow rated 1.318m, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.

The Big Bang Theory rated 1.369m, 1.163m and 955,000.

The change is not the only recent major scheduling switch by Nine. Last month it delayed the launch of The Celebrity Apprentice too late for newspaper TV guide supplements which had put it on their cover.

Seven, which had anticipated the first showdown episode of The Voice, had a relatively uncompetitive lineup. Seven’s only entertainment show above 1m last night was The Force – Behind The Line which rated 1.028m. Highway Patrol rated 919,000.

Ten News was Ten’s only show in the top 15, with 720,000 viewers. The Project was 20th with 620,000 and Mr & Mrs Murder rated just 469,000. Ten’s best performer in its key demographic of 18-49 was Modern Family.

Nine had a share of 24.4 per cent followed by Seven’s 21.4 per cent. ABC1 had a share of 12.3 per cent followed by Ten’s 11.5 per cent.

Despite breaking a big story yesterday about an Australian held in Saudi Arabia for more than a year, NITV had a share of just 0.1 per cent.

Seven won the morning battle with The Morning Show beating Mornings and Sunrise beating Today.
