Nine takes Today to Sundays
The ratings war of 2009 has opened early, with Nine announcing plans to launch a Sunday edition of its Today program.
The move is particularly significant, because it means the network has not completely retreated from Sunday morning current affairs after axing the Sunday program back in August. Indeed, veteran political commentator Laurie Oakes will have an interview slot within the show.
Meanwhile, Seven which won the 2008 ratings war, despite what many perceived as a strategy failure by starting slowly while Nine was showing the ratings-winning cricket, is planning to come out all guns blazing this year. The netowrk will launch the new series of Packed to the Rafters early next month, reports the Sunday Telegraph.
