Nine’s Richie Benaud tribute gets 441,000 viewers while Seven News beats MKR

Richie BenaudNine’s Saturday night programming shuffle to pay tribute to legendary cricket commentator Richie Benaud who died on Friday saw 441,000 metro viewers tune in to the program documenting his life, making it the sixth most watched show of the evening.

In TV last night Seven News managed to draw a larger audience than My Kitchen Rules with 1.319m viewers at 6pm to 1.279m for the reality show at 7.30pm, while Nine’s reality rival The Block: Triple Threat pulled in 1.112m for its room reveal with the rest of the show watched by 1.082m.

While 60 Minutes (1.192m) and Nine News (1.190m) were the third and fourth most watched shows of the night Seven just managed to pip Nine in terms of audience share, grabbing a share of 23.7 per cent to Nine’s 23.4 per cent.

ABC claimed third place with a share of 11.7 per cent as Ten slipped below double digits with a share of 9.4 per cent.
