NITV announces exclusive Indigenous version of The World Game
NITV will air an exclusive edition of SBS’s The World Game with an Indigenous focus.

NITV announces first ever dedicated football show
NITV is excited to announce the launch of its exclusive edition of The World Game, presenting all the best football from around the world each week. The weekly news program delivers audiences with highlights and previews, plus all the best action, news and exclusive interviews from the football world with a unique Indigenous focus.
The program will capture the best moments of domestic and international football, engaging Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences alike by following all the best moments from the biggest tournaments including the Premier League, FA Cup, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
NITV’s The World Game will be hosted by Lowanna Grant, who has previously presented several NITV programs including the digital editions of The Point. Grant looks forward to bringing the The World Game brand to a new audience.
Grant commented, “I’m thrilled to be hosting NITV’s version of The World Game. I grew up watching and playing all kinds of sport and I have a massive interest in football. I’m really looking forward to being able to expand my knowledge on all of the different competitions around the world and to bring football to our viewers who might normally be AFL or Rugby League fans.”
NITV is committed to engaging audiences everywhere and The World Game will also be accessible on-demand across digital channels.
NITV Channel Manager Tanya Orman said “NITV is committed to offering audiences a diverse range of sport coverage and we’re excited to bring our viewers our first ever football news show.
“The World Game is an opportunity to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous viewers alike with all the football news from an Indigenous perspective.”
Football fans can also look forward to NITV’s broadcast of the 2019 National Indigenous Football Championships and extensive coverage of National Indigenous Football Week in November 2020, as well as collaborations with John Moriarty Football.
NITV’s The World Game premieres Tuesday 3 December at 1.30pm AEDT on NITV and airs weekly, with episodes available for catch up on SBS On Demand after broadcast.
SBS’s The World Game continues on Monday nights with SBS Sports Presenter, Lucy Zelić, at the helm.
