‘Nobody is engaging with sports media like Clubby’: Producey’s Clubby Sports expands podcast network

Producey’s Clubby Sports network has strengthened its suite of sports podcasts with the addition of two titles, featuring some of Australia’s most entertaining sports personalities.

The 2024 season will see The Footy, hosted by Broden Kelly from Aunty Donna, and Kick It Forward, hosted by sports journalist Josh Garlepp, join the network’s existing titles, Dyl and Friends, 200 PLUS, Tradies, The Ressies, Life of Brian and Tee It Up.

The shows will aim to bolster Clubby Sports’ influence over the male 18-24 year-old Australian market, with monthly downloads expected to eclipse 1 million once the AFL season is in full swing.

“It’s extremely exciting to be joining Dyl and Clubby for 2024. Nobody is engaging with the rapidly changing sports media landscape better than the team at Clubby,” Kelly said.

“Footy lovers are taking to the online sphere for their footy coverage in bigger numbers every day, nobody gets this better than the Clubby team. We are so pumped for the season ahead.”

Garlepp added: “We’re really excited to be joining the Clubby Sports team. We’ve grown from nothing last year and we’re pumped to see what we can create in 2024 with the support, advice and reach of Clubby Sports behind us.”

Dyl and Friends, the company’s flagship podcast, has expanded to three episodes a week, with guest appearances and weekly minis complemented by the latest weekly offering, Footy and Friends, another show hosted by Clubby Sports co-founder Dylan Buckley and former AFL players Michael Barlow and Brett Deledio.

“We tell people that we are the biggest independent sports network in Australia, but if it wasn’t true it must be now! We’ve got four shows that were in the Triton 150 Australian made ranker last year, plus another (Kick It Forward) that will slot straight in,” said Buckley.

“I’m so pumped that The Footy and Kick It Forward can see what we’re building here at Clubby Sports and want to help us in our mission to provide an alternative to mainstream media for young sports fans.”

Buckley will be taking Dyl and Friends across the country this year, with live shows planned in Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne.

The news comes as this week Clubby Sports also launched a new YouTube series that looks at the business behind-the-scenes, including the development of a new sports lifestyle apparel brand, set to drop in May.

List Cloggers, an existing Clubby Sports podcast hosted by Buckley and ex-AFL player turned TikTok star Daniel Gorringe, will be discontinued this year.
