Nova 100 unveils Kelli Paun as new on-air announcer

DMG Radio-owned Melbourne radio station Nova 100 has announced Kelli Paun as the station’s new announcer. She takes on the new role on May 9, replacing Jody McLeod.

The announcement:

Nova 100 announced Kelli Paun will join the station as an on-air announcer from Monday 9 May.

Kelli has been part of The B Team breakfast show and a day announcer on K-Rock for the past 12 months.

Two years ago, while pumping petrol, Kelli entered a radio talent competition on Power FM Muswellbrook. She didn’t win the competition but came to the attention of station management who offered her unpaid radio training.

For the next three months Kelli worked full time managing the petrol station while learning the tricks of the trade. Her dedication paid off and in April 2009 she became Power FM’s Drive announcer.

In April 2010 she joined K-Rock in Geelong and the same year won an ACRA for Best Newcomer on Air.

Kelli said, “The past two years have been such a whirlwind that I have to pinch myself. One minute I was pumping petrol and the next I am working for Nova, it is a dream come true.”

Todd Campbell, Nova 100 Program Director said, “I have been listening to Kelli’s progress over the past 12 months. She is leaving a great station where she has familarised herself with a good part of the Melbourne audience. She will be a welcome addition to the Nova family.”

Kelli Paun replaces Jody McLeod, who made the decision to leave Nova 100 after nearly ten years to pursue her writing, acting and DJ career.
