Nova Entertainment’s Sarah McGilvray returns in new national programming role

Long-time former Nova Entertainment announcer and podcaster Sarah McGilvray is coming back to the company to take on the newly created role of program director of network shows.

It’s a rapid return for McGilvray, who only left in February after close to 12 years invarious roles, both on-air and off.

McGilvray will lead the day-to-day management of the Nova Network’s flagship national shows, supporting producers on The Chrissie Swan Show, Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel, and Smallzy’s Surgery.

She will report to Brendan Taylor, group program operations director, working with him on the company’s programming strategy. She commences her role early next month.

“I’m so pleased to welcome Sarah back to our business,” Taylor said. “She has extensive broadcast experience, including over a decade with Nova Entertainment, and her show credentials speak for themselves. =

“I am genuinely thrilled she is returning to lead our network show output.”

McGilvray first joined Nova in 2011 as an executive producer of Merrick & Dools, and then Fitzy & Wippa. She later took dual roles as program director of Nova 96.9 and Fitzy & Wippa co-host in 2016.

Some of her previous gigs include producer at 2GB’s Ray Hadley Morning Show, executive producer of the Kyle & Jackie O Show, and senior producer at Nine’s Today Show.

Commenting on her new role, McGilvray said: “I’m looking forward to working alongside Brendan and the Nova programming team, and excited to work with our amazing roster of network talent.”
