NSW companies offered digital interns

Digital companies looking for interns are being invited to take part in the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association’s government-funded program.

The announcement:

SYDNEY, Australia – 12 July 2010 – The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has put out a call for host companies and students or recent graduates to take part in its growing digital industry internship program.

The AIMIA internship program, now supported by the NSW Government, is designed to create access for undergraduate and post graduate students in the rapidly growing digital media industry. The program brings together Australian higher education organisations and digital media companies to give students a formal, structured internship opportunity while they are still studying or soon after graduation.

AIMIA CEO John Butterworth said, “Our internship program is already a huge success and we are excited about the new growth phase we will see in the program with the support of the NSW Government. With mutual benefits for both companies and interns, it’s the perfect way to foster new talent in the digital media industry. We’d love to see more local companies join up to get behind the initiative.”

Companies already taking part in the program include ABC, S2m, Tigerspike, Dialogue Communications, The Project Factory, Pusher and The Farm.
