Nunn Media appoints Admatic’s Matt Crook as head of strategic development

Nunn Media, Australia’s largest independent media agency, has appointed Matt Crook to the newly created role of head of strategic development, making him the agency’s most senior hire to date.

Crook was most recently national CEO and managing partner at Admatic. In his new role, he will oversee strategy, data, technology, activation and digital.

Before Admatic, Crook was chief strategy office and CEO of performance and data at the Dentsu Aegis Network for more than six years.Previously, he was managing director of Emitch.

“Matt’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable at a time where clients are facing challenges across media, data, technology and digital,” said Nunn Media founder and director, Matthew Nunn.

“He joins, in this new role, at a pivotal time as we continue to grow and secure new business across sectors. I welcome him to the team.”

The Melbourne based-agency, with annual billings of $275m, also promoted Sarah Thom to head of client service and growth after she joined in August last year as head of commercial. She will take charge of commercial, client services and global independent media agency network, Local Planet. Previously, she was general manager at Mindshare Melbourne, and has also held senior roles at Vizeum and Mitchell & Partners.

“In a short space of time Sarah has demonstrated her ability to drive the business forward and work with our clients to help them achieve their objectives,” Nunn said.

The appointments follow Nunn Media winning accounts for JB HiFi, 13 CABS, American Tourister, Mecca, Hard Yakka, King Gee, Sargon, and Smile Direct Club.
