Ogilvy Melbourne named M&C Saatchi’s Jo Rozario as group managing director

JO RozarioM&C Saatchi Melbourne managing partner Jo Rozario has been appointed as the group managing director of Ogilvy Melbourne, taking over the role from Sean Taylor who was appointed in March

Taylor also maintained his role as CEO of OgilvyAction when he was appointed to Ogilvy Melbourne. Earlier this month OgilvyAction was merged into Geometry Australia with Taylor moving into the role of head of country for the new entity.

Rozario joins the agency after nearly three years as managing partner with M&C Saatchi. She joined M&C in 2007 as client services director/regional director before being promoted to managing director in August 2010. In March 2012 she was then made managing partner.

On the appointment Ogilvy Australia CEO David Fox said: “Jo has vast experience working in a cross-functional role incorporating digital, creative, strategy and other key capabilities, particularly during her time on the Commonwealth Bank account. Ogilvy’s model is all about capitalising on this kind of collaboration for the benefit of the client so we are excited to have someone of her calibre and focus lead our Melbourne team.

“She also brings strong client-side insight, which will be vital to ensure that our market offering continues to be focussed on results and cutting edge creativity. This teamed with her strong business acumen made her the perfect fit for the group.”

Rozario will work with the heads of business units across the group in an effort to maximise collaboration and foster talent as well as sitting on the national leadership team to drive growth.
