OMD employee cleared of coronavirus as agency returns to ‘business as usual’

OMD in Sydney is back to business as usual after a coronavirus scare.

An OMD employee from London had visited the Sydney office and returned home via Singapore with flu-like symptoms.

As a precaution, OMD and PHD in London closed, as did OMD in Sydney with employees working from home.

Mumbrella understands other agencies and businesses which had contact with the sick person also had people working from home, including Dentsu Aegis Network’s Accordant and Foxtel Media.

CEO Aimee Buchanan confirmed the employee had been given the all clear after testing, and OMD was back to business as usual.

International corporations have been increasing their efforts to slow the spread of the virus, with Facebook cancelling its planned developer conference F8, Facebook and Twitter pulling out of SXSW, and Google no longer proceeding with its I/O event.
