OMD’s Simon Davies joins ACP

simon davies omdMedia agency OMD’s head of publishing Simon Davies is to join ACP Magazines as group manager for brand advertising strategy.

Davies has been with OMD since 2003. Before that he was group sales director at Murdoch Magazines, which was later bought by Pacific Magazines.

During his time at OMD, Davies remained a cheerleader for the magazine industry and has regularly spoken on publishing issues at industry conferences.

The announcement came from Leigh Monti, director of advertising at ACP Magazines. According to the announcement: “He will lead the National Brand Integration teams in promoting ACP’s multi-platform capabilities and look at the future sales direction of each of the company’s brands to further promote their image and success.”

Monti said: “To have someone as experienced and respected within the industry as Simon Davies join our company at this exciting time is a huge vote of confidence in our business and the future of magazines – both in the printed form and digital extensions.”

Davies will start the new role in January next year.

He said: “The acquisition of ACP Magazines by Bauer Media is driving a new sense of energy and excitement around magazines as a medium in the Australian market. As someone who is a self-confessed magazine addict, the opportunity to work on Australia’s best brands and help develop their cross platform presence is hugely exciting and an offer I could not resist.”
