Online used-car platform Carma appoints Domain talent to lead marketing

Australian online used-car platform Carma has appointed Domain’s director of consumer marketing, Emily Meier-Murren, as its director of brand marketing.

In her new role, Meier-Murren will oversee Carma’s brand strategy, including marketing and advertising operations, partnerships and sponsorships, PR and social content.

During her tenure at the majority Nine-owned property marketplace, Meier-Murren led the upscaling of its digital business during a time of business acquisitions and its listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.

She said on her appointment: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Carma team and excited to showcase the company’s amazing work at a time when we are poised to scale.

“For most of us, buying a car is one of the biggest purchases we will make, so helping Aussies see the benefits of making a car purchase online, and earning their trust, is a clear opportunity for the brand.”

Co-founder and CCO at Carma, Yosuke Hall, said: “Emily brings impressive expertise in building marketing strategies for high-growth digital brands. We’re delighted to welcome her to the Carma team and look forward to her strategic direction as we work towards our goal of being the trusted leader in Australia’s used car market.”

Carma launched its first brand campaign in 2022 via Sydney-based venture studio, UntilNow. It also signed a one-year deal with A-Leagues team Sydney FC late last year for the current season that sees the brand across the Sky Blues’ Men’s and Women’s back of shorts.
