Oporto marketing chief to depart as brand looks for new creative agency

Oporto is overhauling its marketing department and agency roster with the departure of national marketing manager Jason Piggott at the end of this month, Mumbrella can reveal.

The fast-food chain appointed Creative Oasis on a contract in October last year, with the agency working on the brand’s summer campaign.

Publicis Mojo has previously worked on the account for the company, owned by Quick Service Restaurants which also includes Red Rooster in its portfolio.

“With a number of digital initiatives due to rollout in the coming months, including the national rollout of our Oporto Rewards program, Oporto has been working with Brand Council to re-define our brand purpose and is currently reviewing its marketing department and agency roster to ensure that the brand is not only positioned for growth but to reinvigorate its communications in a fresh and bold style that aligns with the brand’s heritage and attributes,” Piggott told Mumbrella.

The Oporto Rewards program has been available in the 10 Perth franchises since November last year and offers its customers a free meal on their birthday, exclusive invites to events, member only offers and free wi-fi in store alongside earning points for every dollar spent in-store. It will be rolling out nationally around the middle of the year.

His position has not been filled with the company currently in the process of recruiting.

Red Rooster’s creative is currently handled by Naked Communications.
