OPPO & Melbourne Stars Team Up

Smartphone maker OPPO has today announced that it has re-signed with the Melbourne Stars as a co-major partner and the official smartphone partner for the upcoming Rebel WBBL and KFC BBL seasons.

The partnership will see the Melbourne Stars and OPPO continue to work to develop innovative match day experiences to engage and inspire fans whether at home or in the stadium.

OPPO has always had a love for cricket and has a close relationship with the sport. In 2016 OPPO announced a four-year global partnership with the International Cricket Council and was a key sponsor during the World Cup.

OPPO Australia Marketing and Partnership Executive Teira Humby believes renewing the Melbourne Stars partnership is a great opportunity for OPPO to continue promoting and investing in the sport.

“Aussies love their cricket, especially over the summer months with the Big Bash. Whether you’re at the stadium or watching from home, we’re thrilled to be working with the Melbourne Stars again to bring fans new experiences and unique content opportunities.

“There is a natural alignment between the Big Bash and innovative tech. Whether it’s looking at scores and stats, watching the game on your smartphone device or capturing priceless sporting moments, your phone is at the heart of it all. At OPPO we’re thrilled to be back behind the team and look forward to what the season has in store,” said Humby.

Acting General Manager BBL, Commercial and Marketing David Lever said it was pleasing to continue an already strong partnership with OPPO.

“The renewal of the OPPO partnership is a testament to the strong relationship we have developed over the past 18 months and specifically during WBBL|04 and BBL|08 last season.”

“OPPO has an extremely strong global relationship with cricket and we are thrilled the Stars are able to work with such an innovative, tech led company to continue to push the boundaries on behalf of our members, fans and supporters,” said Lever.

Fans can catch OPPO in full swing with the Melbourne Stars for the current season. The season kicked off on the weekend with the first Melbourne Stars WBBL match taking place against the Hobart Hurricanes.
